Information for Heron class Remote learning
We have set up Google Classrooms for each class. Your child’s login details have been emailed to you – if you need them sending to you again, please email me as soon as possible:

Heron’s classroom will be updated daily with lessons for that day. Children should engage with work for at least 3 hours a day and return it to be marked. Work will be in the form of either a scheduled live lessons via Zoom or Google Meets, a pre-recorded lesson with a follow-up activity or written work, which will be available through Google Classroom and can also be found in their folders. Printed work in folders will be updated on a fortnightly basis. Please help your child to create a routine to complete the various tasks. Mrs Fransham, Miss Boxall and I will be marking and commenting on work submitted, with children both in and out of school, via the Heron Google Classroom.
We will also be checking in with children and families by phone on Monday’s and Tuesday’s to make sure this work is completed and to check on the wellbeing of all members of the family. It is important that we try to engage children in normal school activities to avoid the loss of learning.
In addition to access of Google classroom, Mrs Fransham, Miss Boxall, the children in school, children at home and I will hold a daily Google Meet sessions at 2.45 for 15 minutes. This is a chance to get-together and have an informal chat, talk about any work done that day and maybe play some games. A link will be available on Google Classroom for this and can also be emailed to you via Pupil Asset. But the easiest way is to access it through your child’s google calendar which is linked to their nsix email/google classroom account. Our expectation is that all children will join most of these sessions to be able to ‘check in’ with each other and the adults in their class.

Mrs Fransham, Miss Boxall will be available to support the children from 9am – 3pm and I will be available from 8am – 5pm. If the children or you need us, please either email us, contact us through google classroom or phone us at school.
